Andy Burnham MP, Labour’s Shadow Health Secretary, responding to NHS performance statistics for July 2015, said:

“These shameful statistics provide indisputable proof of how far the NHS has fallen under David Cameron.

“NHS waiting lists have risen by almost one million since he became Prime Minister. Just as worryingly, thousands of cancer patients are waiting too long to start their treatment.

“Our hospitals are under massive pressure and that is because Mr Cameron has made harder for people to see a GP and has cut care in the home for older people. He has left hospital wards dangerously full, under-staffed and over-reliant on agency nurses.

“However they try to present it, these figures show that Tory NHS policies are failing patients. No wonder so many doctors no longer have confidence in Mr Cameron or his Health Secretary.“
